Moving USDT between your own exchange accounts from India: pick the network both sides list
Shifting stablecoins from one exchange to another sounds simple until the network names do not match. A step-by-step routine for Indian users moving USDT between their own accounts.
Multiple exchanges | India | INR | fees, access and account safety
Many traders in India keep accounts on two or more exchanges: one for buying, another for a product or pair the first does not offer. Moving USDT between them is a daily task for some, and the mistakes are always the same. The withdrawal network chosen on one side is not supported for deposits on the other, a memo is left out, or the amount is below the receiving side's minimum. Because both accounts are yours, you can check everything before sending, and you should.
Start on the receiving exchange
Log in to the exchange that will receive the USDT, open Deposit, select USDT and look at the network list. Write down the networks shown and pick one. Copy the deposit address for that network, and if the page shows a memo or tag field, note that too. Also look for a minimum deposit amount; deposits below it may not be credited automatically. Doing this first means your choice is limited to networks that will definitely arrive.
Match the network on the sending exchange
On the sending exchange, open Withdraw, select USDT and choose the network with the same name as the one you picked. Labels can differ slightly between platforms, so check the token standard if it is shown, not just the chain name. Paste the address and compare the first and last characters with the receiving page. The form displays the network fee and the amount that will arrive; read both before you continue. If the exact network is missing on the sending side, go back and choose another.
Save the address once to avoid repeated pasting
Since you will make this transfer again, save the receiving address in the sending exchange's withdrawal address book with a clear label such as the receiving exchange name and network. Many platforms let you restrict withdrawals to saved addresses, which protects you if your password is ever stolen. After saving, a small test transfer confirms the label points to the right place before larger amounts follow.
Track the transfer and record it
After confirming, copy the transaction ID from the withdrawal history and follow it on the network's block explorer until it shows confirmed. Then check the deposit history on the receiving exchange. If it does not appear after the confirmations the deposit page asks for, open a support ticket on the receiving side with the transaction ID, network and amount. Keep a simple record of each transfer in rupee terms, because moving between your own accounts still needs to be traceable in your records.
